Hi! I’m Lisa!
You may be asking yourself...
What is a DOULA?
The word “doula” comes from the Greek meaning “to serve”.
Doula’s provide evidence based information during the birthing process in an effort to empower the mother and partner to make informed decisions. I will work with you to help achieve the birth that you want. Together we will strive for a physiological birth with as little stress impact to you and your baby.
I am there to “Mother the Mother” and ease anxiety for the partner. There to help offer comfort, and provide a listening ear. I am there for emotional support, to reduce anxiety, for guidance and will ALWAYS advocate on your behalf.
- Instantly feel supported, heard and cared for
- Work WITH you, not against you
- Oxytocin release - Adrenaline goes down
- Advocate on your behalf
- Evidence based choices
- Facilitation of communication with care providers
- Empowerment through knowledge
- Physiological birthing
- Stays by your side the entire labour
- Nurture & protect the memory of your birth experience
- Support for the birthing person AND the partner
Benefits of having a birth DOULA
This is one of the most
important events in your life...
let’s work together to make it
the very best it can be.
What is a postnatal
DOULA
A postnatal doula is crucial for providing practical and emotional support to new parents during the the most challenging early weeks after childbirth. Becoming a parent is a life changing event, the doula will help the parent(s) discover their own of parenting. The Doula will assist with newborn care, breast/bottle feeding support, provide emotional reassurance to the parents and help you navigate the adjustment to your new role. A postnatal doula will also assist with household tasks, sibling and pet care, allowing you to focus on bonding with your new baby. The presence of your doula will contribute to a smoother transition into parenthood.
Doula Journey
As I was looking at how to reinvent myself,
I started volunteering at the Royal Free
Hospital in the maternity ward with the
infant feeding team. My time in the ward
started off being informational and
interesting, then it quickly became a passion. Specifically learning all of the tips and tricks to breastfeeding.
Watching these new families navigate how to be parents, how to breastfeed, how to support each other, eventually became my “reinvented” mission. I have a wealth of experience in caring for a wide range of patients/couples/parents/clients from a variety of different backgrounds, cultures, and circumstances.
It was my time at the hospital where I was inspired...
I had found my life calling - to become a DOULA.
About Lisa
Hi! I’m Lisa. I am a mom to 3 amazing boys (26, 23 & 15 yrs old), and two dogs ~ Duke & Charlee. I married my best friend Brad, 26 years ago. Together, we all moved to London in 2022, at which point I gave up my corporate job in finance to embrace life as an expat. I used that time to “REINVENT” myself. I found that not being heavily relied upon as an employee and a mother to “littles” was new unchartered territory. Quite a difficult position to be in actually.
I used this “time off” to volunteer and provide service in my community. I worked regularly at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Having the ability to volunteer has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.
Our time in London ended and we made the move back to the USA and the great state of WA. It feels good to be “home”.

What people are saying...
Lisa is a warm and caring person who
helped me feel fully supported in
managing our first weeks as a family of
three. She is knowledgeable about
breastfeeding and reassured through
bumps in the road with encouragement
and practical advice, without any
judgement about choices. She cooked
nutritious post partum food and was
proactive helping out around the house
to minimise stress and protect time
with our daughter, so I could prioritise
healing. Thank you Lisa for constantly
checking in and being a listening ear
and for all the love you gave me and Lili
- we miss you!
