Hi! I’m Lisa!
You may be asking yourself...
What is a DOULA?
The word “doula” comes from the Greek meaning “to serve”.
Doula’s provide evidence based information during the birthing process in an effort to empower the mother and partner to make informed decisions. I will work with you to help achieve the birth that you want. Together we will strive for a physiological birth with as little stress impact to you and your baby.
I am there to “Mother the Mother” and ease anxiety for the partner. There to help offer comfort, and provide a listening ear. I am there for emotional support, to reduce anxiety, for guidance and will ALWAYS advocate on your behalf.
Doula Journey
As I was looking at how to reinvent myself,
I started volunteering at the Royal Free
Hospital in the maternity ward with the
infant feeding team. My time in the ward
started off being informational and
interesting, then it quickly became a passion. Specifically learning all of the tips and tricks to breastfeeding.
Watching these new families navigate how to be parents, how to breastfeed, how to support each other, eventually became my “reinvented” mission. I have a wealth of experience in caring for a wide range of patients/couples/parents/clients from a variety of different backgrounds, cultures, and circumstances.
It was my time at the hospital where I was inspired...
I had found my life calling - to become a DOULA.
About Lisa
Hi! I’m Lisa. I am originally from Seattle Washington in the USA. I am a mom to 3 amazing boys (25, 22 & 14 yrs old), and two dogs ~ Duke & Charlee. I married my best friend Brad, 25 years ago. Together, we all moved to London in 2022, at which point I gave up my corporate job in finance to embrace life as an expat. I’ve been using this time to “REINVENT” myself. I found that not being heavily relied upon as an employee and a mother to “littles” was new unchartered territory. Quite a difficult position to be in actually.
I’ve used this “time off” to volunteer and provide service in my community. I work regularly at the Royal Free Hospital, as well as Keats Community Library. Having the ability to volunteer has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.
My time off has allowed me to stop and smell the roses and to reevaluate what is important in life and to me!

“A gift....”
Having Lisa with us after the birth of our first child was such a gift - we had no idea what we were doing. She helped us settle in as a new family. Having her assist us with our second child wasn’t even a question - she provided support that I didn’t know I would need as a mom to two babies.
